From this, it is revealed what significance a husband and wife relationship holds in a person’s life. Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H), who enacted Islamic law himself, immensely felt the necessity and importance of this relation. Martial accord is of utter importance, husband and wife both are required to care for each other and each other’s right.

If these rights are not fulfilled and practiced by both, it can create huge consequences not only in their lives, but both their families and children are likely to suffer as well. Disharmony could create a wider impact on the lives of children, destroying their growth ages, leading them towards a neglected and spoilt growth.

Since the base of moralization is family and home, disagreements could damage the whole of it. This is why Prophet Muhammad (P.B.U.H) emphasized on the importance of this relation.

According to Hadith-Al-Tirmidhi #276, Narrated Amr ibn al-Ahwas al-Jushami
Amr heard the Prophet say in his farewell address on the eve of his Last
Pilgrimage, after he had glorified and praised Allah, he cautioned his
followers:

‘Listen! Treat women kindly; they are like prisoners in your
hands. Beyond this you do not owe anything from them. Should they be guilty
of flagrant misbehavior, you may remove them from your beds, and beat them
but do not inflict upon them any severe punishment. Then if they obey you,
do not have recourse to anything else against them. Listen! You have your
rights upon your wives and they have their rights upon you. Your right is
that they shall not allow anyone you dislike, to trample your bed and do not
permit those whom you dislike to enter your home. Their right is that you
should treat them well in the matter of food and clothing.’ [Transmitted by
Tirmidhi]

Hadrat Hakeem Almat Thanvi Qads Allah said,

“Take lessen from a dolt and uneducated girl, who stays devoted and committed to her husband just by saying two words at her time of marriage. That girl (wife) leaves her mother, father, brother eventually her whole family behind to adjust with her husband. That girl remains loyal and faithful, and stands by her words.”

He further said, that girl (wife) left everything behind, just to be yours, can’t you (husband) stay devoted to Allah Almighty for whom who had recited and testify this

“La Ilaha IllAllah Muhammadur Rasulullah” (There is absolutely no deity worthy of worship except Allah, and Mohammad (saws) is the Messenger of Allah.)
