As we all know Ramadan is round the corner. Muslims from all parts of the world wait for this blessed period of time to make more and more Dua for Ramadan. This month belongs to Allah and we all get our hearts softened for this month.
This is the month of blessing , brotherhood, gratitude, forgiveness, taqwa and alot more. Everyone touches their spiritual sides and every single soul seeks more refuge from shaitan and closeness to Allah SWT.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said,
“Whoever observes fasts during the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith, and hoping to attain Allah’s rewards, then all his past sins will be forgiven”
It is a time when Muslims around the world fast during daylight hours for the whole month of Ramadan and It’s also a time for spiritual reflection and growth, to help those in need,to spend time with loved ones and make most of the time in making Ramadan duas.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said,
“Allah said: The Fast is for Me and I will give the reward for it, as he (the one who observes the fast) leaves his sexual desire, food and drink for My Sake.
Fasting is a screen (from Hell) and there are two pleasures for a fasting person, one at the time of breaking his fast, and the other at the time when he will meet his Lord.
And the smell of the mouth of a fasting person is better in Allah’s Sight than the smell of musk.”
Every moment in this holy month is of making dua. Not only adults but children also take part in making dua for Ramadan and practising religious deeds. Children look up to their families and continue doing the same good deeds rest of their lives. Every deed is purely for Allah. We do for him and we seek forgiveness from Him.
Best Dua for Ramadan
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
Allahumma innaka `Afuwwun TuHibbul `Afwa Fa`fu `Annii.
‘O Allah, you are the Forgiver, You love to forgive, so forgive me.’
Allah SWT expresses the importance of this holy month of ramadan,
“Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may attain taqwa.” (Quran, 2:183)
At another instance it is mentioned in quran,
Oh, you who believe! Fasting is prescribed to you as it was prescribed to those before you, that you may learn piety and righteousness” [Quran,2:183]
Ramadan Dua List
Ramadan is the time when we can take reward in each passing moment by obeying Allah , by pleasing Him and by performing more n more Sunnah ( acts and deeds done n approved by our beloved prophet Hazrat Mohammad PBUH) We all muslim practise all the dua for Ramadan same as our dear Prophet use to read or has taught him ummah.
Dua for Closing Fast
وَبِصَوْمِ غَدٍ نَّوَيْتُ مِنْ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ
Dua for Suhoor: “Wa bisawmi ghadin nawaitu min shahri Ramadan.”
English translation: “I intend to fast tomorrow in this month of Ramadan.”
Dua for Breaking Fast Ramadan
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّی لَکَ صُمْتُ وَبِکَ اٰمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْکَ تَوَکَّلْتُ وَعَلٰی
رِزْقِکَ اَفْطَرْتُ.
Dua for breaking fast in Ramadan: “Allahumma inni laka sumtu, wa bika aamantu, [wa ‘alaika tawakkaltu], wa Ala rizqika aftartu”
English translation: “Oh Allah! I fasted for You and I believe in You [and I put my trust in You] and I break my fast with Your sustenance.”
Dua for Sighting Ramadan Moon
| اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ وَالتَّوْفِيقِ لِمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّه |
Dua to recite after seeing the crescent for Ramadan is: “Allahumma, ahillahu ‘alaina bil-amni wal-imani was-salamati wal-Islami wat-taufiqi lima tuhibbu wa tardu.”
English translation: “O Allah, let this moon (month) pass over us with blessings, Iman, safety, and in the belief of Islam. Grant us the ability to act on the actions that You love and Pleases You. (O moon) My Lord and Your Lord is Allah”.
Dua Ramadan
Ramadan is divided into three parts, the three Ashra pertain to
- Rehmah (mercy),
- Maghfirah ( forgiveness), and
- Nijaat ( protection).
Ten days (fast) makes one complete Ashra. They are known for their own attributes. As it is learned by dearest of all Prophet Mohammad (ﷺ )
“It (Ramadan) is the month, whose beginning is mercy, its middle, forgiveness and its end, emancipation from the fire (of hell)”
Dua For First Ten Days of Ramadan
The first ten days of Ramadan reflects the mercy of Allah. These days mark that every believer should only pray, make dua, do charity , be generous and make sure that no moment passes by without the remembrance of ALLAH SWT.
Sahi narrated that:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said :
“In Paradise there is a gate called AR ‘Rayyan, it will be said on the Day of Resurrection: “Where are those who used to fast?
Would you like to enter through AR-Rayyan?” whoever enters through it will never thirst again.
Then when they have entered it will be closed behind them, and no one but they will enter through it.”
Allah , who is the most merciful to his believers the whole year, especially this part He brings more love with His rahma. He directly accepts and listens to all prayers and grants us with his mercy and joy.
Most commonly read Best dua for Ramadan first ten days are :
رَّبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَاَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرّٰحِمِيْنَ
Translation: “O MY LORD ! FORGIVE AND HAVE MERCY AND THOU ART THE BEST OF THE MERCIFUL ONES
يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّوْمُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيْث
Translation: “O Living, O Sustaining, in Your Mercy I seek relief.”
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَّفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَّقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ
Translation: “Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.”
Dua For Second Part Of The Ramdan
As we are witnessing fasting already, following the rituals and getting used to the routine of house chores and ibadah. Now comes the second part which signifies Forgiveness. These days we seek forgiveness from Allah in daily dua for Ramadan. In reality, the goal of the second Ashra (part) is to practise gratitude and forgiveness. Forgiving others is the biggest deed a Muslim can do, so in order to attain forgiveness from Allah we should forgive others as well.
‘Urwah bin Az-Zubair narrated that Aishah told him that:
The Messenger of Allah used to encourage the people to pray Qiyam in Ramadan, without insisting on that.
He said: “Whoever spends the nights of Ramadan in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins.”
Mostly commonly practised dua for forgiveness are,
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ
Translation: “I seek forgiveness from Allah”
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللہَ رَبِّی مِنْ کُلِّ زَنْبٍ وَّ اَتُوْبُ اِلَیْہِ
Translations: “I seek forgiveness from Allah for all my sins and turn to Him”
اللهم اغفر لي ذنوبي يا رب العالمين
Translation: “Allah forgive my sins, O Lord of the worlds”
Dua For Third Part Of The Ramadan
The third and the final part of Ramadan is the most precious and at the same time emotional part of this holy month. Uptill now a believer has moulded his routine and self towards Allah’s will. He is fasting only for Allah, he is asking only from Allah and he is willing to continue like this.
This is remembered today through zakat donations being spread across the final ten nights, including Laylat-al-Qadr donations for additional rewards in the Hereafter.
This part holds the safety from the Hell-Fire. In these ten days we seek for the “odd nights” , and sit for Aitkaaf during day time. Any odd day can be the day where Layalatul-Qadr falls which is the Night of Decree where the verses of the Quran was revealed to Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) making it an extremely Holy Night to pray on.
Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Every slave of Allah who observes Saum (fasting) for one day for the sake of Allah,
Allah will draw his face farther from Hell-fire to the extent of a distance to be covered in seventy years.”
Commonly used duas for these ten days are,
اَللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ
Translation: “O Allah, save me from the fire (Jahannam)”
لاَ اِلٰہَ اِلاَّ اَنْتَ سُبْحٰنَکَ اِنِّیْ کُنْتُ مِّنَ الظّٰلِمِیْنَ.
Translation: “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been the wrongdoer.”
Laylatul Qatar – The Night Of Forgiveness
The Night of Power – also referred to as Laylat-al-Qadr – is considered to be the Holiest night in the Islamic calendar. This was the night when the first verses of the Holy Qur’an were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), by Angel Jibrail.
Narrated by`Aisha:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to practise Aitkaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, “Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights of the month of Ramadan.”
The Night of Power – also referred to as Laylat-al-Qadr – is considered to be the Holiest night in the Islamic calendar.
This was the night when the first verses of the Holy Qur’an were revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), by Angel Jibrail.
This night falls within the last 10 days of Ramadan, and although the exact date is unknown, it is widely believed to be the 27th day of the Holy month.
This is a night of great remembrance and worship to Allah (SWT) and ranks higher than that of 1,000 months.
ITIKAAF
To understand the virtues of itikaf, one needs to understand the purpose of it and why it is suggested that it be done, whether during Ramadan or outside of it.
The main purpose of itikaf is to remove yourself from distractions and focus solely on the worship of Allah, as Allah created us to do.
“Whosoever for Allah’s sake did even one day’s Itikaf, Allah would keep him away from Jahannam (hellfire) by trenches”
Aitkaf is a time to renew your relationship with Allah without the distractions of daily life. It is like a spiritual retreat to renew and energise your soul.
