AN IDEAL GUIDE FOR AN ‘IDEAL MOTHER TO BE’

Keeping another life inside your belly for nine months is really a life challenging event and a hardest job ever to do and if you are going to be a mother you must be worried but believe me every mother goes through it and you can too successfully INSHA’ALLAH and all you need to do is follow the instructions (stage wise) given below keeping in mind that how peaceful it would be to hear the first cry of your new born, a healthy newly born baby and indeed a blessing you can’t thank enough for. Here you go.

(DURING PREGNANCY) PERIOD :

1: RELAX YOUR MIND:

The most important thing is minimizing your stress , so push your thoughts aside , cross your legs , close your eyes , chin up , relax your body , inhale deeply , let the air fill your lungs more , pause  and now exhale . repeat the process several times a day.

2: DIET :

Dietary factor contributes a lot to the baby’s growth and development .
Your diet should be rich in proteins ( e.g. halal meat , oats, beans, egg , milk and yogurt most importantly  ) , good fats ( including nuts , olive oil , avocados , fish ), good carbs ( fruits and vegetables ) . Avoid processed food and take organic one as much as possible.  Take multivitamins also. Your calorie intake should be 2000 cal per day in first 6 months and 2200-25000 in last three months with an overall weight increment of 25-35 pounds in single and 37-54 pounds in twin pregnancy.

3: ENLIGHT YOUR PATH WITH THE MERCY OF GOD:

Foundations of any Generation are definitely built by the mothers and being a Muslim I firmly believe that this alone can take you out from every difficult situation. Now people today are most of the time complaining about disobedient and transgressor children.  As training starts right when the cell of your baby is formed inside your belly so you need to be careful about that. Be in wudhu all the time, pray for a pious and a healthy baby, recite Qur’an and do Zikr as much as possible, pray for yourself and for a safe delivery. In short ask ALLAH for each and everything you need, just ask him and HE who loves you more than seventy mothers why wouldn’t help you in your crucial period.

4: REST AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY:

Taking appropriate rest is another important factor. It should not be little not even too much that you spend all your day lying on bed watching different TV shows, thinking too much or texting and phoning all the time and end up having a useless rest and tired mind. Carry on your daily life activities but you can minimize a little and do some other physical activities too like regular walk, mild yoga, meditation and other relaxing exercises.

5. MOOD & BEHAVIOUR:

You probably are facing mood swings in pregnancy, don’t worry they are common due to hormonal imbalance. You can manage it by the instructions given above and don’t be so hard on yourself. Be happy and make others happy too life will get easier itself for you.

6. CHECK-UPS AND FOLLOWUPS:

You must have consulted a gynecologist and if not please do that as it’s very important and don’t miss any appointment, session, vaccination or prescription .

DURING DELIVERY PERIOD :

This is the hardest of all stages. Prayers and appropriate health care staff management is needed and you will get through it INSHA’ALLAH .

AFTER DELIVERY PERIOD :

A lot of instructions are there for post natal management but only the most important ones are listed below .

1:FEEDING THE BABY :

Feed your baby with in thirty minutes of birth and no bottle feed please. Simple breast feeding is needed only till six months. Not even water should be given till then. Learn the feeding positions and techniques from your doctor. Try to be in wudhu all the time specially during lactation. One more thing that while feeding the baby you should be having positive thoughts or no thoughts at all. You’re not just transferring milk but everything inside you.

2: FOR MOTHERS:

You must have heard of a common hadith

‘PARADISE IS UNDER MOTHER’S FEET’

now either it’s a reward as u have borne a life inside you for months and have given a birth which no other creature except a mother could do or it can be taken as that the paradise of your child depends on what kind of training you are giving . your newborn is like a seed and you have to nurture with love and care of course but most important thing is if it’s according to the norms of our religion. And if your teachings and training is worth the paradise then it will surely be going to his/her destiny.

Post Script :  Eat healthy , stay happy , keep praying , focus on your baby’s tarbiyat and training, keep the word ‘laziness’ out of your world , put effort , struggle hard , build the foundation of your generation and eventually you will see the results .
