Do not despair, you will survive it again.

Do not despair, you will survive it again.

Do not despair, you will survive it again.

How many times do we find ourselves stuck in a situation where we feel down in such a way our hopes start to diminish and all we want to do is run and hide until the day becomes clear again? Sometimes for something that has happened to us or someone we love, and other times for no reason, we simply feel a sort or emptiness filling us.

All of us surely have been through this countless times, it’s our nature to feel things and at times it can happen that we actually don’t understand them, which turns out to be as bothering. We have ups and downs in life, a roller-coaster of events and consequent emotions, it can happen that we end up losing our way through one of them and we forget how it is to feel at the top. It is natural, but how many times have we been through the same thing over and over again, and still managed to find our way back?

We need to remember in every situation, whether it is good or bad, that everything is a temporary test. Every single thing that you are facing is either a blessing or a lesson.  It is never a vain suffering, you are always progressively learning and growing.

  • That is the actual meaning of living, if we never faced trials and tribulations, then how could we know the relief of finally being over it when the ease comes?
  • If Allah would allow us to live our portion in this world without any hardship, then how would we strive to feel the sweetness of Jannah, the only place where there is no hardship at all?
  • Everything He does has a reason and wisdom behind it, even if we cannot see or understand it.

That’s why this Dunya is full of  these bad events and feelings. It is our test, so our attitude and how we withstand these things is what defines us. Maybe you don’t understand why you have been through some bad things.  You want to get married but you can’t do so, you want a job but it has been hard for you to find it, your family has troubles and you ask yourself if you’re ever going to be happy… Life has been tough on you and still, you have been patient but you don’t know why the test seems to never be over, however, Allah reminds us the Quran that

“Verily, along with hardship there is ease”,

and He promises that not only once, but twice.

You have a promise from Allah, you are growing and becoming stronger whilst all of this is happening to you. You don’t need to wait for it to be over to finally get your reward, He is with you through every step of your way, watching over you, wiping off your sins just like He is wiping your tears. You can not see it but the reward Allah is saving for you, and the blessings He is bestowing upon you are endless and if you could see it, your heart would melt out of love for your Merciful Creator. You would actually ask to be tested more because of that, wallahi.

Sometimes the test is in our Deen, maybe you are feeling disconnected, you pray and read Quran but there are no tears in your eyes, or you can’t seem to concentrate although you are trying. Or maybe you feel like you have sinned too much and you start feeling ashamed and hesitant to talk to Allah, then little by little you start getting further until a point where you feel completely hopeless. Don’t do that!

Don’t let Shaytan beat you twice making you desperate, if he beat you once by making you sin then beat him by turning to Allah and seeking His forgiveness. Don’t you ever despair from His mercy, don’t ever fall into the trap that you are not worthy of it, you absolutely are, no matter how much you have sinned, Allah is waiting for you to turn to Him and ask Him for forgiveness and help. So, after that, no matter how great and impossible your wishes seem to be, to Allah nothing is out of reach. If He wants it to happen, then all He has to say is “Be” and it will be.

If it’s not meant to be, know that there is a reason for that, and He is saving something even greater for you. There is never a “no”, either He will grant you your wish, give you something better or reward you in the most beautiful of forms in Jannah. Is there something more beautiful?

Allah is listening, talk to Him. Let him be your closest Friend and tell Him everything, despite of the fact the He already knows what you feel. Tell Him what is bothering you, ask Him for what you want, share your happiness with Him so He shall increase you.

So if you are there feeling down, remember, you have gone through similar situations countless times, and you managed to smile again. You survived it all the other times, you will survive it once again. Trust Him.

Whatever you are facing, know there is blessing in disguise, it is surely strengthening you and if you keep being patient, then your reward is not ever going to be wasted.

‘Say: “Nothing will befall us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Protector. In Allah let the believers put their trust.”
